Where did VertexBuffer9 Optimize() go?

Are you possibly refering to ID3DXMesh::Optimize ?? I don't believe regular vertex buffers in D3D ever had an Optimize method.

Mmm, I don''t think so, not the mesh interface..maybe it was dx7..I coulda sworn it was there. Supposedly you would only optimize static VB, and once you did, you weren''t supposed to be able to use it. I haven''t used static VBs for quite a long time.. Read this article:
