is there a way to use windows forms in a full screen directx application. i heard it may be possible by messing with the message pump. if theres nothing to do, what would u advice me to quickly set up buttons and so on for my application? thx

Another thing would be to use Crazy Eddie''s GUI Classes . It''s a really impressive class for DirectX GUIs! I think he''s got a sourceforge.net project, just search for it.
