So does this mean that NeHe doesn't want hotlinking of any of the programs?

Your file is on Nehe''s site. Nehe''s site is kindly hosted by Gamedev, so you''ll probably need to get in touch with one of the staff to find out if they have a problem with you stealing Gamedev''s bandwidth for your personal site. My guess would be that they might not like you using their expensive bandwidth to run your own game site without their consent. If you think Gamedev should be doing this you should read about how to be hosted by Gamedev here.

I don''t want/need gamedev to host my site at all, because it''s already using up quite a bit of bandwidth, and it wouldn''t be good for gamedev. Not to mention that my site has nothing worthy of GameDev, particularly since I still haven''t gotten around to cleaning up any of the source code. All I''m talking about is my one demo that I made and entered into the NeHe competition.

Couldn''t you just link to his HTML page that links to it?
Like the project description?

Would not that just waste more bandwidth, because they''d be downloading both the page and my program?

Slightly more, but it would also A)Show people where the file is coming from, thereby getting in a plug for NeHe, and B) Create a banner ad impression.

Since the banner ads are how they pay for the bandwidth it''s only right to link to a page that contains one if you''re linking to stuff on their server.

I was showing people where it was comming from (now it''s hosted on my own server), and I would put a banner, but banner programs generally will shut down your account if your ads show up anywhere other than your own website.
