Restoring render state after wireframe

Hi I was wondering why after setting the app to render wireframe i cant I cannot return to rendering textures, even if I used the exactly the same states? The only way I can render textures after is to recreate the surface again. Is there any other way? works ok SetRenderState( D3DRS_FILLMODE, D3DFILL_WIREFRAME ) but this doesnt SetRenderState(culmode.. IT''''s Geeky
