Is "SDL_Net" a good networking library?

Hello there. I just wanted to ask a simple question. I am planning on making a small 2D game in SDL, with MS Visual C++ 6.0 Standard, and I wanted to add multi-player mode support. Is the "SDL_Net" library a good library to use for this? I just want to know if it''s easy to use, is "reliable", etc. Also, can someone tell me how to go about writing a multi-player game? I mean, is multi-threading the way to go? I haven''t done *too* much with WinSock, but I have made a simple chat application, for two people. Also, if I should use threads, does anyone have examples of threaded examples using SDL_Net? Thanks for any input. =)
