I been working i a really kickass game desing. Ive been designing the level for about 4 months now. I created 7 different towns and cities, All buildings can be walked in and explored, Things hopefully with a few programmers can be bought at stores. My game idea is prolly impossible to some but ive been working my ass off. I desided that all games are the same once you played one fighting game or rpg you played them all. Every so often a kickass unique game comes out. So one day i sat there with on my pc writing a bunch of cools things a game could have to make it kickass. I though of wouldnt it be cool if the chacter would have to work someone to make money? or level up his or hers jobs? Take for example. You create a character you start off in the poor side of the city. So wut do you do? you look for a job! Either driving a taxi witch could lead up owning the company to just working at higher paid companies. Or become a figher man. Work by your self saleing fish to buying a boat and saleing tons of fish at a dock. Idk its gona be a hard and long time before this game is done. And plus these are just ideas. I just want a game that people have a second chance to become and buy things they want in a game. One of my top ideas is creating another town simler to hollywood where the chacter can even make movies using a replay program. Im creating a demo on my own where you can only walk around and explore all the towns and terrain. If you interest please say so and i''ll write your name down for i can contact you! The hardest part was making the level not looking borrowing. Im using light programs to create light effect and shadows bitmaps. And things blow around as if there were wind. Theres a game for camecube called animal crossing this game would be almost like that but with a grand theft auto vice city look to it. If you have any ideas or want to view the demo as soon as im done please let me know now ahead of time so i know people are interested! THANKS!!! and dont write something like this is impossible cuz ive been told that already!

Why the hell would I want to sit around all day in a game selling fish? You play games to have fun...to get away from the monotonous things we have to do in day-to-day life.

And by the way, it''s called a paragraph. Please learn how to use it. Your post gave me a head-ache.

All the features you've mentioned have been used in previous games, some of which were quite good. So no, its definately not impossible, but it DOES require a lot of time and effort, not to mention having the neccesary skills and knowledge in the first place.

Estese brings up a good point however, you have to make sure that any tasks you include are actually entertaining in some way so that people will actually want to play your game. Also as Estese mentioned, some sort of formatting in your post would be nice in future.

Sounds too much like real life, if you ask me.

I concur, i mean...is their going to be a story line or do you just spend the game works...and besides i use computers for fun and i hate it when i have to go to work, why the hell would i wanna play a game where I''m on a computer but I''m not doing c++ or something but instead doing work which i hate...kinda seems a lil backward if you ask me.

BTW are you foreign or retarded, not trying to be offensive or nout but even i have a limit on bad grammar. O_o

I have to ask, what kind of response were you looking for here? Your topic line is basically a very, very vague status report, and you invite responses. What are we to respond to? The body of your post is a rambling, stream-of-consciousness description of what appears to be a hodge-podge of underdeveloped game ideas, most of which are cosmetic (things blowing around?) and non-essential to the game design.

All we can do is critique your babbling ideas, and considering the amount of content you''ve got here, it''s easier to get our teeth into your poor grammar than your poor game design. I don''t mean to flame, but you''ve been at this for quite a while (four months of level design at least) and you still don''t seem to have a clear idea of what sort of game you''re making beyond "The Game of Life" and "Wouldn''t it be cool if ______?"

In your game idea, a character has to start at the bottom and work his way up, by doing less glamorous work and "putting in his time" in lower-level, low-paying jobs. You obviously understand this principle, and yet you fail to apply it to yourself. You''re trying to walk in off the street and get a job as area coordinator for a telephone company, with no work experience. Your only special qualification is modelling (EVERYBODY has ideas), which is roughly equivalent to expecting to excell as a restaurant manager because you can tend bar extremely well.

You seem to be gaining some considerable skill with modelling, if your posts are any indication, and so you might be able to contribute meaningfully to a game design project. But don''t drop out of school and get a loan to work on this project. You''ll probably learn a lot from it, but it''ll take a miracle to get it done. Try to get involved in some other projects in the meantime. I remember a year or so ago I was working with bishop_pass and several others on a game, and we were stalled for want of modellers. You might have been just the guy for the job. Check out the Help Wanted forum, and see what''s going on.
