any libs for models?
There are libs for music, for images and input but are there any libs for models?
I''m about to skip using sprites in my projects and go with the real thing u''know. But before i''ll write my own MD3 / MS3D loader i''d like to work more on my game engine so a lib would suit me perfectly.
The problem with model loading libraries is the you generaly load into a structure that your engine knows how to deal with. There is no generic way to draw models cross-api, so its pointless to write a library for this (or near pointless). What would be neat, is if someone wrote a run-time converter for various file formats, that output to a common data structure. Then, provide something like an "X" displayer library, for each of the major API's. This would be your closest bet to a good model loading LIB.

I''m still working on OMA. It''s only useful for certain people at the moment, as it''s missing certain features (adding bones and tags right now) and file formats (working on MD4 and MS3D right now).
The author of picomodel contacted me (because of OMA) a while back to let me know of its existance. You might find it useful if your requirements are within its scope.
There are also certain more specific model libraries like lib3ds if they are good enough.
