As title says. I''m looking for an open source library to read IGES files. I''ve already STFW, and of course sourceforge, but couldn''t find anything too useful. I have the 5.3 standard, but it seems like an awful lot of work to implement a reader (the standard is very complex). I''d like to avoid that, if possible. Anyone knows if something like an IGES lib exists ? Reading files would be enough, writing would be a nice bonus but is not required. Thanks !

I assume you''re talking about the CAD files ? Have you tried the OpenCASCADE cad kernel ? ( www.opencascade.com ). Admitedly this is a full CAD kernel, but it does have a (as far as I''m aware) a full IGES file reader and writer. I''ve forgotten what the license on it is to be honest, but I''d suggest you check it - AFAIK its free to use for anything, but you can purchase a support contract if you want something like that...
