Hey When i make a display list and set it to compile mode where and what is opengl saving to memory. Where = is this stuff on the heap(freestore) or stack? Is it more benificial to use displaylists or just type my vertexes in my renderin function? Thanks Matt

That''s defined by the driver. There is no real way to find out.

Display lists are faster than individual uncompiled glVertex calls. Vertex arrays, especially those provided by card-specific extensions, may be even faster.
