Hi, I have a question about using properties in Delphi. Is there a speed penalty, when accessing a field through a property? Something like this: type TBitmap = class private FImageHeight : integer; FImageWidth : integer; public property Width: integer read FImageWidth; property Height: integer read FImageHeight; end; Thanks.

No. You really shouldn''t worry about that. You mean compared to using public members? On a higher level; Accessing a variable in a typical class i O(1) so it''s pretty much as fast as it can be.
