Hi there! I''m using satellite photos as texturemaps in my latest rts, so the question is: Can I fake 3d terrain? etc, if the satellitephoto shows "the white house" etc, can I put a nonrenderable box where the house is, but it still affects the zbuffer? kinda like game that us a 2D background, but characters can walk behind stuff... would it perhaps be possible to use planarmapping on the box, using the satellite texture and the camera as projection direction..? Any clues? "Game Maker For Life, probably never professional thou." =)

glColorMask(false, false, false, false)

That will allow you to ''draw'' objects, but no actual colour pixels will be written. Z-buffer values may be written if you''ve got your depth funcs set up as normal though.

Or you might do well to google for ''nailboards'', if you''ve got static backgrounds with depth...
