Using 3D max 4 to create .X files

I tried to create an animation seqeunce in 3D max 4 using BIPED. And then i export it into .X using Panda, then when preview it in Mesh Viewer of DirectX 9. It shows the BIPED with the mesh. Is this suppose to happen? Can I make the BIPED invisible.
