Container Space Optimization Algorithyms

I am looking to see if there are any DirectX examples using a space optimization Algorytms. Eg. Cube is container LWH Eg. Objects[] LWH of varing sizes ojects that can be put in the cube container What is the optimal positioning of the objects within the cube to fit the most objects... Any points to any area/space optimation algorithyms would be appreciated..
