Nub matrix question (easily answered)

where can i find (and how would i include if its not standard) a library (or header file or w/e) with resizable matrices? I''m using msvc++ 6 if it already has one.

Well, im using my cpp class's (sp) vector.h but a problem occrus when:

struct player
vector<int> trail_direction();
player *next;

// then in one of my functions:

probe->trail_direction.resize(1);//(probe is my linked list traversing pointer)

returns :error C2228: left of '.resize' must have class/struct/union type

I did look it up on MSDN and i thought what i found did apply here.. but I tried changing things around and i cant get it to work.
