Hey ! I''m workin on a 3D game using Jim Adams RPG programming book, and I use his cMesh class to load my meshes. However, the problem is that the class does not load normals from the mesh file. I have tried to use D3DXComputeNormals() to compute the normals after mesh is loaded, but it didn''t work. I don''t know exactly how and when to use that function coz the code for loading meshes is kinda long and complicated. Please help! How to load or calculate mesh normals....in Jim adams code, or in general ?? Thanx in advance!!

Using .x files, if the file has normals in it, they will get loaded. If they are not (check sdk for how to check for the normals in the file), use D3DXComputeNormals to compute them. Your lights or materials can be wrong as well, not showing any lighting on the mesh.
