no DirectX in my control panel
I just installed the DX9 SDK, rebooted and I can''t seem to find the DX setp panel.
It should be under my control panel right?
btw I''m using windows XP (maybe it has something to do with that?)
Are you using the Classic or Category view?
On my XP DirectX is visible under Classic but not Category.

It''s easy to see in classic view.
If you''re in category view it''s cunningly hidden inside "Other control panel options" within the "see also" pane.

You not only have to install the SDK, you also need to install the "Developers Runtime". Or whatever it''s called.

yup, you dont see because you installed the retail version of the run-time components. you need to install the debug version. there are no drawbacks since you can still chose to use the retail runtime when you have the debug version installed.
