Hey all I''ve been searching the web for a free level editor to make Quake-alike maps for my first person game. I know Radiant, but since my engine is not based on BSP trees I just want some editor which can export vertices and associated texture names to some flat file format. I come across "gmax" - and just before I get into downloading the stuff and read the tutorials, I want to ask if anyone of you have tried gmax ?? - is it good ?? Any other idea on a free level editor ? thanks

What about one of the quake or half-life editors that are out there?

I remember that there used to be a worldForge for half-life, but don''t know whether it''s free.

you can''t export gmax files to anything usable. (only quake 3 model files which you may be able to read or convert. you''ll need a plugin for this.)
