I think it's been an acceptable amount of time since the last one, so put up your art! -2D! -3D! -Your game models! -Your concept art! -anything that doesn't get you banned! EDIT: oh yeah, please inform us of what program(s) you used! Alright, I'll start, here is a test render of a GameCube I made in Blender. I call it a test render because it's not finished, and probably won't get finished. This is about as far as I get with art because I get inspiration for a new picture and drop the current one I know that sucks, but I haven't figured out a way to avoid it. So, it needs a lot of work, but I hope to come back to it someday. ==================================== The worst thing about mistakes is explaining it to my wife. Nice GameCube model! It looks like you have the proper sizes on everything. Slap a texture on that and it will be even better.

I made this image about a year ago for a project that never really took off. Done in Photoshop 7 with a mouse(didn't have a tablet heheh). It was a character portrait and was only supposed to be viewed as a thumbnail. But I still like it anyway.

The complete concept art for a female model for an MMORPG:

My next task for this project will be to make a matching male model, then hair and clothes for them both, and then I get to do monsters! I'm excited because this is the first time my art is actually being used in a game.

I've also done several clothing designs recently:

As always, comments are welcome!

Edit: Oh, programs I used - well, I'll explain my drawing process actually, since it's pretty simple. I sketch with a mechanical pencil on standard computer paper, color with gel pens and crayola markers, scan with my wonderful OpticPro UT24 *hugs scanner*, and edit in Photoshop. Often there is a printing-out, redrawing, scanning in again, re-editing process in there too. I also have a lightbox which is tremendously useful for tracing and making 2-d animations.

Looks great guys, keep them coming
Retsu--have you thought of redoing that in hi-res? That would rock.

It's not that hard, just use this:

img src="address of your picture"

but you have to put < at the beginning and > at the end for it to work.
Your animation looks good, keep up the good work.

sunandshadow--on your clothing designs, i really like the second one from the left, the chick with the feather in her hair.
I don''t know if it''s the outfit design or the colors, but it''s cool

This is one of my favorites. It''s a bit old, but I''m pretty sure I haven''t posted it on gamedev before. (And no, I''m not going to stick it in an <img> tag unless someone puts a 56K warning on the thread title.) It''s actually the wallpaper version of the image, hence the funny placement of the chop in the lower right.

At it''s heart it''s three separate renders done in Poser 5. Textures were made in Gimp, then the renders were done at 6000x4000, the images composited in Gimp, and then some fairly heavy post-work was done. The whole thing was shrunk down to 1200x800 for my preferred version, and a 1024x768 crop was done for the wallpaper version. I''ve still got the monster xcf file at full resolution, and I''ve been meaning to go back and do some additional work as soon as I upgrade my computer.

303 views and only 10 replys?
More art, please!

So anyway, I guess I''ll let you in on my current project then:

Crossbows & Catapults animation!
C&C was the coolest game in the 80''s (yes, the 80''s, before many of you were out of diapers).
Basically, you had 1 tower, some wall blocks, a crossbow and a catapult that launched disks via rubber band, flags, and some plastic warriors.
The object was to build your wall around your tower and use your weapons to try and knock over the other dudes tower.
Simple and fun.
So I decided to model all the pieces for both sides, and animate a battle. But instead of having regular players, I will have the little plastic dudes doing all the work, a-la army dudes in Toy Story style.
So here is my start, one wall block and a weapon disk. I added a shot of the real pieces next to it. I will try to tackle the tower next (I think):

Wouldn''t that make a great animation??

Hey, cool stuff there, Lamont. I see we got another 'waver around here.

I do Lightwave myself. Here's a pic I did a few months ago. It's an experiment with doing photo-real.

EDIT: Converted BBcode to HTML. Argh, wish this board supported both!

Hey FenrirWolf,

I sent you an e-mail about your 2D engine, did you ever get it? I love space shooters, specially 2D ones. When I got to Japan I buy like 3 or 4 of them from the 100 yen shop.

Yeah, I use Lightwave for a lot of things, but I end up going to 3DS Max to export the data. That reminds me I need to buy the 3DS Max plug-in for MD2.

OR get the Lightave MD2 plug-in to work the way it''s supposed to... grrr.

Dang it! I''m sorry, I didn''t. I probably thought it was spam. Currently, I get around 30-40 spam messages per day and I''ve already accidently deleted a few real messages in my attempt to keep my mailbox clean.

Can you resend it with maybe a "NOSPAM" in the subject or something? I searched but I saw nothing from a "Lamont" (that wasn''t trying to sell me something, that is).
