In the C++ program I''m writing, I have to get a bunch of numbers from a file, which I''m using the fstream get() function for. The problem is, the argument of the get() function is a char, but for the purposes of this program what it gets from the file needs to be an int (it has to do math with it, etc). I tried the obvious, simply using an int rather than a char, but the compiler wasn''t too happy with that. Any thoughts?

in.open("myfile");

int number;

in >> number;

in.close();
