Here''s my problem: Before render, i organize my vertices in a dynamic vertex buffer. What size of batch should I use (render 65000 vertice)? Microsoft recommends 1000 vertices, it''s damn slow. I lose 300% performance. Any idea ? Sorry, my english is bad.

i batch my terrain into 1024 vertices and works pretty fine for me (i get around 100+ fps).. the main problem i see when batching with large number of vertices is CLOD and culling, you''ll unneccesarily display large number of polys which are not going to be seen.. basically try with various combinations and see which one suits u best..

In my terrain class, I divide the terrain into 1024 (32x32) chunks of vertices and render only those visible to the camera.

The first version rendered the entire batch in one go, but after switching to the blocks my frame rate went up about 50%.
