Managed C++ and DirectX

Hi, I''m wondering if it''s possible to have a 3D engine DLL (coded in C++ with DirectX) loaded by a map editor using .NET Windows Forms (coded in Managed C++). Should the engine DLL be done in Managed C++ too ?
