Perlin noise 100% on GPU?

Hi, I want to implement Perlin noise texture generation 100% on the GPU (shader 2.0). I plan to use the improved perlin noise as described in this paper. Does anyone attempted this? The goal is to provide uv offsets and time to the pixel shader, and generate a n octaves Perlin noise in a rendertarget. I think that with smarts texture lookups, it could work. Any ideas?
