How dop i access the vertexbuffer that D3DXCreateMeshFVF creates?

I cant figure out how to use DrawIndexedPrimitive because it asks for a pointer to a vertex buffer, but i dont have a pointer to one becuase i am calling D3DXCreateMeshFVF. It also seems that if i use CreateVertexBuffer i cant fill and acess the index data because using that function requres a pointer to a D3DXMESH object. Anyone help me?

ID3DXMesh :: GetVertexBuffer()
ID3DXMesh :: GetIndexBuffer()

You could also use ID3DXMesh :: DrawSubSet() to render
