File Location of a Custom Resource

I''ve got a program worked out in windows, and I''ve been trying to add a Help file to it. I''ve made a .chm, and included it as a "HELP" resource type. My call to HtmlHelp(...) works as long as I supply the full path to the file. However, I want it to run off the resource. MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDR_HELP3) returns a string, but crashes the program when supplied to HtmlHelp. Is there some other function? Should I load and lock the resource and then supply the MAKEINTRESOURCE call? Thanks.
