D3DXSprite & Cameras?

I have no idea how to code a camera in DX8 yet, but I am using D3DXSprites for my 2D engine and I''m wondering if it would be possible to latch a camera on to the scene so I could rotate/zoom the 2D world? Is this possible? Code would be sweet! Thanks....
