bitmap loading in Win32

well i fanally finished my first program ever... tetris the problem is i didn''t use bitmaps in tetris i used the rect command to make all my blocks.... i would really like to use ari paddle lib in this new game but i don''t understand how to load from a file of that size. another thing that stumped me is how to make a line. you see my plan is the ball draw an invisible line or plot a line store it in an array and use it as a reference to move, creating a new line when it hits a surface. then starting the process all over again. i finally ran into bresenhams work after about 4 days of thought on this matter, but i don''t understand it. and im one of those people that needs to understand something to use it =[
