DirectShow to slow down playback

Is DirectShow able to slow down/faster the frame rate of the movie playback ?? if it''s can''t, is there any good library/API to play movie with the ability to slowdown/fasten the playback...

The capability to change playback speed depends mainly on source codecs. If that is supported on a particular codec, you can use IMediaPosition interface's Rate property to access the speed setting.

So, what kind of codecs support that ??
I was thinking about DivX or Bink, or just plain Avi..
anybody know ??

Do you have the DirectX SDK? Write a small app to test the codecs out. There''s no standard that any given codec has to support rate changes, but I believe that at least some do.

Most audio codecs do support rate changes, excluding WMA - however, I''ve never tested video codecs for that particular capability.
