I have seen a million explanation that TALK about the skinweights structure, buit cannot find a SINGLE FRIGGIN'' animated text .X file on the net that has bones! Can someone post a SIMPLE model that demonstrates use of bones, with an animation? It can just be a box or anything with some simple motion. According to the documentation, I am doing everything right, but not getting mesh deformation with the animation. I need to see an example! Thanks alot.

The tiny.x example that comes with the d3d sdk is a text .x and has the structure that your looking for.

Cool. Now is the VertexDuplicationIndices template necessary to do this? How does it work? Will bones work at all without it? I am just trying to get mesh deformation to work in the simplest possible scenario, before I go back and perfect it.
I''m afraid I couldn''t tell you that. D3D has a load skin mesh function that I use
