I don''t think there is any free height map of the Alps, sadly

If all you are looking for is some realistic heightmaps of mountains and the fact that isn''t the alps would not be too much of a worry, you can freely get hold of heightmaps for Washington State, USA. The DTM''s are made avalible for GIS users, but should be usable for you too.

Thanks for the replis.
I actually need authentic data of the alps. And it should be a detailed map of a region.
I suppose your probably right. I''ll have to buy it somewhere.
