how to view a directplay app in messenger?

hi guys, i saw lots of games using DirectPlay in the "task bar" of my msn messenger. I wonder how this is achieved since it seems not to be automatic... Does someone of you know how it''s achieved? thanks in advance.

Its done by having the app register itself with DirectPlay as a lobbyable app.
