there are 2 version for mdxredist.msi, one is retail version and one is debug version, you can get both of them under the

SDK folder\Developer Runtime\Managed DirectX\Debug or
SDK folder\Developer Runtime\Managed DirectX\Retail

hope this helps

Well - more weirdness. It turns out the mdxredist.msi let me run apps in XP, but the dx control panel still said the managed libs weren''t installed. The ONLY thing that will make the control panel see managed libs is to use the summer 2003 SDK install, which is impractical. This works on win2000 as well, except it STILL WON''T RUN APPS.(same error) I tried switching debug/release libs too. Is it possible that I have jacked my boxes from trying to install all these potential solutions and didn''t do the right install order the first time? The .NET 1.1 install was through windows update. the DX9 install was the \redist\directx9\ from the summer 2003 SDK(fixed version) with /installmanageddx. Thanks
