Loading & Playing Sounds

Hi, I am using directsound and I have a doubt... What do you you think is better? 1- Loading all my sounds at a non-critical time, and when I play I don''t have to load them. 2- Loading and playing a sound just when it is required... The first gives less "lag" when playing sounds, but they are allocated all the time. The second may give lag, but the memory is better used, i think.... So, what do you think is the best choice?? thanx

Depends upon whether your application can tolerate the lag. More memory use on preloads, and more CPU use on load on the fly.
