Hi there I’m fairly new to OpenGL programming so excuse my lack of knowledge. At university we are learning to use C++ with GLUT to create 3D shapes. At home I have installed a copy of Borland C++ Builder 6 and placed all the necessary GLUT files in the correct folders but my very simple program refuses to run! C++ Builder 6 gives the following error: Project .exe raised exception class EPrivilege with message ''Privileged instruction''. Process stopped. Use Step or Run to continue. I then installed a copy of MS Visual C++ 6 then followed the instructions I found on the net for configuring GLUT in MSVC++ 6 and again placed all the necessary GLUT files in the correct folders but again my program refuses to run! MS Visual C++ 6 gives the following error: Unhandled exception in .exe (NVOGLNT.DLL): 0xC0000096: Priviledged Instruction. I use Windows XP Pro and I read on the net that I should install and use these software in the Administrator account and so I did but it still refuses to run. I would appreciate any help in this matter. Many thanks

Would you be using a Nvidia card? I see the nv prefix on the offending dll and thats the first thing that comes to mind. Try reinstalling your cards drivers, If it compiles then obviously your not doing anything wrong.
