What is the best way of rendering Terrain in an 3d rts game? do i need to use 3d tile? quadtree? or brute force will do... i want to create a large map for my rts game

Is rendering the terrain in an RTS any different from (say), a flightsim or anything else?

Just use the normal optimisation methods for drawing a heightfield terrain. In fact, don''t optimise it at all, just wait until it works before finding a faster way (if necessary).

So, just draw a lot of triangles all over the map (perhaps limit it to the visible area)
