Heh, this might be a stupid question... but how do I set up the properties in VC++ .NET so that my search path starts at a specific point and not different depending on where each file is placed? like: //file1.cpp in: Game/SomeDir/file1.cpp //now when file1.cpp wants to include //header2.h in: Game/SomeOtherDir/header2.h //it has to include like this: #include "../SomeOtherDir/header2.h" //I would like to set the "Game/" dir as the "default" //path when including files, but can''t find the setting //that enables this in VC++ .NET //this is how I want it: #include "SomeOtherDir/header2.h" //since "Game/" was already by default... thank you!

Go to your project properties. Under C/C++ in the general section, there should be a setting for "additional include directories". Add the directory you want, and things should work out.

Thank you, that was what I was looking for

This option was colored in grey, so I never noticed it - seemed like a title of some sort heh.
