Vertex shader crash on a mobility radeon 7500

Hi! I do bump mapping with a version 1.1 vertex shader (vertex shader code is the same as in the SDK example). It works on almost all machines overe here but there is a notebook with a mobility radeon 7500 which crashes when bump mapping is enabled. I tried calling ValidateDevice before rendering, but it returns D3D_OK. What could be the reason then? Any help would be greatly appreciated, kp

my ATI 9000 Mobility crashes everytime, when the vertex shader input variables don''t fit the vertex declaration exactly. Usually it shouldn''t matter if the vertex declaration contains more than the needed vertex shader input variables....
