Hi all, Graphics programming newbie here and I have a couple of questions. Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to render basic water? And by basic I mean low fidelity, low detail models. Also, if I wanted to improve these low detailed models, in other words to make it more realistic, what would you guys suggest? Would bump-mapping work? Anything else? Thanks!

My suggestion if your still very new is not to start water as good working water takes a LOT of work.

Somthing simeple you can do is blend 2 textures of water and animate them to get a very simple yet ok looking water.

Hey,
I bet if you just google for "(insert API here) water tutorial" you''ll find a lot of hits. I remember there was a good one at www.gamasutra.com though.
