Representing air flow

Hi, i already have a particle engine which works pretty fine: i use it to simulate the airflow coming out of an aircraft engine. Since i started simulating a vertical takeoff aircraft, i would like to simulate the effect of particles dispersion when they hit the ground. To make it simple, i have been thinking of a ball that hit a wall, but i couldn''t "write" any equation. Any help is greatly appreciated.
