Vertex buffer as multimple stream

I am trying to do vertex tweening and I am wondering if I could put several models in same vertex buffer (positions and normals but no tex coords). Then I would set same vertex buffer as multiple stream sources. What I want to know is what will DirectX do internally? Will it copy same vertex buffer twice (or thrice)? For example, I would put 6 keyframes in one vertex buffer and adjust animation so that only two are used simultanously as streams 0 and 1.
