All the documentation stuff just confuses me. How do I use WinCvs for a SourceForge project? It would be great if anybody could give a SHORT general explanation. What do I need to know?

I don''t think a short explanation is possible. CVS is a fairly complicated tool. Heck, just describing the basic terminology needed to use CVS would probably take a few paragraphs. Are you going to use CVS as a developer or just to get source dumps from sourceforge?
I''d use it as developer.
Yeah I meant just an overview. How it is done usually.
I''m trying to find a starting point.

How would I do it ... have a Repository on my hd and set up cvs in dev-c++?
Then upload files to the SourceForge CVS Repository?
Wrong? Correct? Stuff like that ...

I stopped using CVS when I came across this

http://www.tortoisecvs.org/

Total integration into Windows Explorer and it is remarkably easy to use

There is no easy explination on how to you WinCVS, its a complicated tool...

Thanks! That helps ... I think I understand it a little better already.
Now I just need to find out how I can undo what I just did ...

Read the CVS Book: http://cvsbook.red-bean.com/cvsbook.html. It does not focus on tools like WinCVS or Tortoise, but it does give you a very solid understanding of how CVS works.

Get the CVS server details, get putty and get putty to login without password, once that''s done you can use winCVS.

Thanks.
Tortoise helped me ... at least it is up and running.
With Pageant pointing to the private key and ssh and a new module at sourceforge and, and and ...

I know I'll need to learn how to use it properly.
But I'm not completely lost any more.
