directplay timeouts and security

is there a way change the default timeout for connect? i saw how on findhosts, read and write, but couldnt find anything in the docs to change from the default 60 seconds. i dont want to rely on findhosts, largely because i dont want to use it period. also has anybody got any advice for encrypting directplay data? i know it doesnt inherently support this, but what about ssl etc for simply encrypting the data before passing it to directplay. im unfortunately no expert on secure network programming so i dont know how you would go about key exchanges etc. llloyd [edited by - llloyd on April 21, 2004 12:32:35 PM]
