Texture-freeing

When showing (streamin) a video-clip in OpenGL, the memory would get full pretty fast if the new images were loaded into a new texture spot (or texture ID) all the time. Is there a way to free textures that have been uploaded to video memory? I guess one should upload and overwrite an old frame of the video, but I''m just curious... -Trond
