Ok, I downloaded Dev-C++ and I wrote the infamous "Hello World" program. //This is the first one I tried #include <iostream.h> main() { for(; { cout << "Hello World! "; }} ////////////////////////////////////////////////// //This is the second one I tried #include <iostream> int main() { std::cout << "Hello, world!\n"; } I was told that both of these wold work, but when I compile and run either one of them, it gets an error and says that it is Unable to run program file. I am stumped. Any help?

which devc++ did you download? there is one package for people who already have mingw installed, and another one if you don''t. You probably picked up the wrong one. Go back and get the other one.
