Technically its possible on Xbox but you would probebly have to do some hacks with it. Basically Xbox is a computer dressed up as a console. If its possible to get Linux on Xbox (which has been done) then I dont see why Java would be any harder.
It''s possible to port it to any console. But the problem is that in order to make an official distro, whomever does the port will need to get a license from the manufacturer of said console. Without the license you have, in essence, a worthless hack. IIRC Sony''s reasoning for not granting Sun a license was that there has been no demand for Java on the PS platforms. I assume they mean - no demand from their licensed developers.
