Collision question

I am working on a very simple 2d engine as a project. The view will be constructed in opengl but the actual geometry is stored as a series of 2d "walls". The camera is encolsed inside of a circle. I know how to find whether my circle is touching a wall, but how do I determine the collision while its moving? Like if I move the circle along a direction vector, how do I determine the time of intersection? Thanks in advance. Life would be so much easier if we could just get the source code.

Watch this thread and look at olii's profile. He has answered a lot of threads related to collision detection. He also has a site with very good collision detection examples.
