flatness test and bezier surfaces.

Hi.. I''m working on subdividing bezier surfaces.. and I was wondering if anyone can tell me any good flatness test? I have read an article by James Clark ("A Fast Algorithm for Rendering Parametric Surfaces"), but I can''t really say I understand what he means, so if anyone feeling like explaining it for my, go ahead. regards /Kimmen
