I have a firm grasp on generic/DOS C++ language and want to start programming for Windows / WinXP. What''s a good book to learn all that Windows has to offer? Preferrably with DirectX API coverage too. Thanks, Mark Mark Jansen CIS and Economics Major, Math and Business minor at U of Oregon. Still beginner in programming. http://gladstone.uoregon.edu/~mjansen1 for games.

IMO, I think it''s hard to go past Petzold''s ''Programming Windows'' fifth edition. Also look up the Forgers win32 tutorial.
A quick google will find you both
