Sniper Scope

how would you go about making a HALO like zoom for a sniper rifle (ie 2x and 10x zoom)...i figure you cant just move the camera or you can cheat and look thru objects...im guessing you can alter the proj matrix to do it?

Reduce the field of view. If you shrink the far end of the viewing frustum stuff doesn''t get smaller with distance as quickly (as if you were compressing the distances).
