Any word on a toolkit for C# that will make cross-platform graphical applications? A portable "windows forms", if you will, perhaps with a built in designer? Anything, or any plans for something like the Java-GUI for C#?

you wont see C# make "forms" for anything other than windows until the .NET CLR is ported to other systems. I know there are a couple in the works. But for now, C# is Windows specific.
check out the mono project (gomono.com), but they are really only ready with the web based stuff right now, the windows forms stuff still needs more work.
Soooooo , you''re saying there''s a chance!?
Look into GTK#, WTK# or QT#. There isn''t really a *lack* of crossplatform C# UI toolkits - it''s just that they''re not all very complete.
