Light Trails

Light Trails? You mean the "dragging effect" of the light along its motion-path, right?

That''s quite easy. One method involves motion blur, where you simply reference a couple of previous frames (containing the bright light decal or whatever) and blend them together with appropriate weights to achieve the motion blur effect.

Another method would be, if you''re using HDR, to perform an "after-image" effect. One way to do this would be to generate texture co-ordinates in screen space along the direction of motion and gather those samples and blend them with appropriate weights.
